What is a nonhuman choreographer? It’s as if I am being prompted by the AI<\/strong> into a free association metamorphic narrative space of auto-choreography. Why do you keep working with something, like fermentation, like the membranes, like making sourdough? Mika says the culture was making her do it<\/strong>, making her make the bread\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018choreographer\u2019 is not the sourdough itself, but it channels an energy that \u2018makes me do it\u2019, makes me active, engaged, thinking-through-making. In this case, the AI, like the sourdough or the indigo process, is channeling some kind of work, a labour of remembering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scores are ways of remembering how to get into that space where something is happening but \u2018it\u2019s not me\u2019, a self-less making. Something unknown is \u2018making me do it\u2019. So maybe I should just do it, without needing immediate results or satisfaction, a kind of work for nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indigo is such an old process, it existed before chemistry was any kind of science. There must have been an intution, a desire for that colour and a secret knowing that guided people – the world over, in different cultures with different processes – to seek out a method of creating indigo blue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is this spiritual intuition? Indigo is linked to the ajna, thrid eye chakra in Indian philosophy and it\u2019s colour I tend to \u2018see\u2019 in my inner vision when I meditate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
