We worked at the Elisabeet community garden on the day 5. This is where mika has an indigo project and we planned that activities or “field work” is also a part of our process. Mika started clearing one of the vegetable beet harvesting all the peas that was growing there. Dominique joined and she carefully picked all the peas. It was big bowl full of peas.
Indigo at the Elisabeet is now growing well. The plants and color/dye process happening at the Elisabeet makes the parallel to the practice we are doing at the Backsteinboot.
Mika has been dying the big fabric she bought. It is slowly becoming blue. When it is dipped too many times, it finishes off the reduced indigo in the vat and it does not color but just becomes brown.
